Full Moon
There is a full moon out tonight. It shines so brightly, it is hard to believe it has no light of its own. Hard to believe that such a desolate place, pelted by asteroids, can look so beautiful simply by reflecting the light of the sun.
That moon is deeply encouraging to me. It tells me that when things get tough, when we feel dry and pelted by life's asteroids, we can steadfastly face the Son ... and glow.
"One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: ... to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe ... and set me high upon a rock. Then my head will be exalted.... My heart says of you, 'Seek His face!' Your face, Lord, I will seek." Psalm 27:4-8
