Home > Newsletter > By His Grace Letter to a GraduateCongratulations! You have accomplished something that took effort and perseverance, and it is worthy of recognition. You have every right to be proud of yourself. We are. You are now at a crossroads, one of those moments when life changes never to be the same again ... and the future is full of possibilities. You may not yet know what you will be doing the rest of your life. And that's okay. In time you will figure it out. Just keep your ears open to the gentle whispers of your Heavenly Father. He has promised to guide your every step, and He is faithful. Wherever you are led, our prayer is that you will choose to live your life with integrity in truth and honesty. Lies and secrets eat away at your soul, and they are like boomerangs - they have a way of coming back to hit you when you least expect it. But when you have nothing to hide, you have peace and nothing to fear; and that is true freedom. Choose to be free, and choose to do the right thing. Life is difficult enough without the added burden of having to endure the consequences of wrong choices. Hide only that which will bring honor to God if it is ever discovered - good deeds, thoughtful acts, special gifts. There is joy in that kind of secrecy. The world will try to tell you that titles and wealth are the measure of a man. Don't listen. Make it your life's ambition to develop an intimate relationship with your Father, for the true measure of a man is in a heart that reflects His own. Never seek to impress men, they are fickle. What wows them today will bore them tomorrow. Seek instead to please your Heavenly Father, and you'll have eternity to rejoice in His presence. You will not always understand nor like what life brings, but learn to
rest in the fact that a Wise Love watches over you. And always remember
- you were created for eternity. Your time on this earth is temporary.
Make the best of it, but keep your eyes on forever. There is where you
truly belong. -Maria Lund |
