Congratulations to our 2006 confirmands!

Kelli Clasen, Matthew Golden, Haley Haubrich, Kyle Mellander, Angela Riedman, Steven Snipes, and Ross Wilson!

The next session of Confirmation Classes will begin on October 2006 and is open to anyone in the 7th grade or higher. Please contact the church if you are interested in your child attending.

Confirmation is a two-year investment that the Covenant Church makes into the lives of Junior and Senior High students. The first year of study examines the New Testament and highlights pertinent church history. The Evangelical Covenant Church has a rich heritage and it is an important value to instill that legacy into our cherished youth. Therefore, each student receives a quality study Bible, and is instructed in how to use it. Classes are an hour and fifteen minutes in length. During the studies, there is discussion, Biblical exploration, and other activities that generate questions and discovery.

Students are taught spiritual disciplines and guided in their practice so that life long skills learned early will provide spiritual benefits all their lives. Second year studies focus on the Old Testament and further development of spiritual disciplines. The Pastor teaches the class and bonds are built between student and pastor that build trust and encourage personal growth. The Lordship of Christ, maturing in living the faith, spiritual development, and Biblical education are the goals which students give themselves. Confirmation is a worthwhile endeavor that strengthens the Church and effects the world in which we live.
