Youth group is for everyone 6th to 12th grade
and we meet every Thursday night from 6:00 to 7:30
For bible study, prayer requests and snacks.

WHY – I have been asked, “What kind of name is that for a youth group?” It started as an acronym for Wiley Heights Youth but it has become so much more than that. Our youth are constantly asking questions; if not of us of someone they know. Some of these questions about God and society are tough questions. If they themselves are not the ones asking their friends are asking them questions, especially if they live their Christianity out loud. Here are some I have heard over the past year.
Why go to church? How does sitting in a pew on Sunday morning listening to a guy talk at me with no real discussion demonstrate what Jesus taught?
Why do bad things happen to good people?
Why are there so many different churches and why can’t they get along?
Isn’t the God in the Old Testament different from the God in the New Testament?
Aren’t our God and the god of the Muslims the same God?
There are many more even harder questions about our society, president, abortion, gay people, war, and the right way to evangelize. All great questions so it seems appropriate to me that our Youth be called WHY. If you know someone with more questions than you have answers send them to Wiley Heights on Thursday night from 6:00 to 7:30 PM for bible study. I may not have all the answers but I know a great book where we can look them up together.

Mexico Mission Trip
During Spring Break: WHY joins with Selah Covenant Church and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Terrace Heights and travel to Mexico to build houses!

Throughout the year we have day hikes, youth retreats, lock-inn’s and special events!
Creation Concerts and Inspirational Speakers
Members of WHY attend the Creation Northwest festival each July. This event consists of four days of camping, concerts, inspirational speakers and work shops. In 2008, one of our youth was baptized at Creation.
