From the very beginning of the Covenant Church, missions was a very important part of the denomination. The first name given to these early converts was Mission Friends and then it was changed to Evangelical Mission Covenant and more recently to Evangelical Covenant Church of America. Today we as a church send a portion of our budget that goes to help support our career, short-term, and project missionaries in 20 countries. We also support Covenant World Relief, which works in disaster relief and sustainable development. Covenant World Mission
